The Place Of Gratitude In Prayers

The Place of Gratitude in Prayers

Post Series: Effective Prayers

First, what is GRATITUDE?

Gratitude is one of many positive emotions. It’s about focusing on what’s good in our lives and being thankful for the things we have. Gratitude is pausing to notice and appreciate the things that we often take for granted, like having a place to live, food, clean water, friends, family, and even computer access.

Having Gratitude means being thankful. So with it being Thanksgiving, you may be feeling extra grateful for your blessings.

There are times that we do not have the words to speak, we do not know how to express ourselves in prayers, but with gratitude in our mouths, with songs of thanksgiving, with dancing, we can make our requests known to God.

The word of God says;

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by “prayer” and “supplication” with “thanksgiving” let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Gratitude is a form of prayer and it’s important as believers to always give gratitude. Giving thanks from the bottom of our hearts is important. Giving God reverence for what He has done is important.

When some situations are above us, laugh it out, sing praises to God and see how it turns around for good.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Even when you don’t like it, give thanks, when you like it, give thanks. When it goes your way, give thanks, when it doesn’t, give thanks.

The Father appreciates gratitude.

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Psalm 107:8-9

The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!

Psalm 50:20

Give gratitude in prayers always! Appreciate the Father, always! It’s what we are born to do.
