The Power of Consistency – Why?

Hey guys, this is the concluding part of the series on consistency. It has been a really enlightening period for me. I would really like to know what the experience has been for you too. So please don’t forget to make a comment at the end of this post. Let me know your best episode and how this series has helped you as a person.

I will be concluding this series with a question. The ultimate question you have got to ask yourself when it comes to consistency. It is the one question that drives you forward or slows you down. One question that really determines how far you go.

Along the road, you will face challenges, very tough ones. They may even be impossible to overcome. Some people have overcome unbelievable challenges to get to where they are today, and the question we would always want to ask them is; how did you do it? One response is common in their answers, they saw something.

So, let me ask you; why?

Yeah… that’s it. Why are you doing whatever you are doing?

What do you really see at the finish line?

Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

Oh my!!! Seeing this actually pumped some adrenaline into my system.

Nothing pushes you up the insurmountable mountain than what you see at the top. Nothing takes you through life’s thorns, obstacles, destiny destroyers and so on, other than why you are there in the first place.

The minute you lose sight of where you are going, why you are here, why you are doing whatsoever you are doing – music, writing, ministry, speaking, business, relationship/marriage, and so on – you will stop feeling the need to move on. Your strength fades, desire evaporates, passion disappears and all you are left with is just a desperate push to just survive life.

A lot of relationships and marriages are broken because they lost sight of what put them there in the first place. Businesses have crashed because the Pioneers forgot what they saw at the beginning. Ministries have failed because those involved forgot why they were called.

Please, before you go into anything, before you get started, be sure of your why; be convinced and keep reminding yourself along the way.

If your eyes be single, your whole body will be full of Light.

Do not settle for less than what you saw at the beginning. Never exchange your vision for crumbs; do not settle for it. You are well able to accomplish that which you saw from the beginning.

Not by yourself though, so you don’t boast in your strength; but He will give you strength beyond limitations, beyond your weaknesses, beyond your flaws.

Lol… this is a reminder for me too. This month DeAltar will be 2 years old. This is helping me remember what I saw when starting DeAltar. I have made mistakes along the way, I wanted to stop along the way, I even stopped caring. But every time I see why I accepted to start DeAltar, I see a reason to move on. I look forward to celebrating 50 years of consistency with DeAltar if Jesus tarries.

I want you to do the same.

There are some dreams, visions and ideas you have left on the shelf for quite some time. It’s time to pick them up and remind yourself of what you saw when they came into your heart. It might take some time to remember some of them, but stay there. It will all come together.

Now make a commitment to see it through no matter what happens. Make a commitment to see it 50 years from now. Make a commitment to be consistent no matter what happens. Make a commitment to do all you need to do to make sure it is realized.

Now, another thing I want you to do is to write out this commitment in your own words and put it where you would be able to see it. Consistency is all about commitment.

Write steps you will need to take to make it happen. You can spend some time writing a detailed plan for it.

Now, pray about it. Commit it to God and ask Him to fill you with His strength to carry on in the face of strong adversities.

Faithful is He that begins a thing, He will surely complete it.

I love you but God loves you more.

Don’t forget to write about how this series has been a blessing to you.

You Are Never Alone.
