Not Lucky, But Loved
Wow… he just got a promotion, He is so lucky.
She is very lucky to have passed her exams in flying colours.
He is lucky to have those kind of parents
She is lucky to still be alive…
It is interesting how we appreciate luck for quite a number of things or credit its influence in the outcome of certain events.
So, an individual is either lucky or unlucky as far as our experiences are concerned.
A dictionary defines luck as an unknown and unpredictable phenomenon that causes an event to result one way rather than another.
This is where we hear phrases like “good luck” and “bad luck”.
But is everything that happens to us as human beings really controlled by luck?
Are we really subject to an unknown power that just decides for us for no reason? It decides when we succeed or when we fail? And we cannot but accept it?
I do not think so…
“For I know the thoughts that I think towards you saith the Lord, thoughts of peace not of evil, to give you a hope and a future.”
“And we know that ALL things WORK together for GOOD to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose”.
These scriptures should show us all that we need to see. Nothing happens by chance, rather everything that happens to us is for a reason.
I know how this sounds to some of you. So you are saying I failed my exams for a reason? You are saying my being raped was intentional? You are saying that I lost my parents for a reason?
Well, one thing I need you to understand and know is that you are not unlucky for all of that to have happened to you. Luck does not have any part to play in all of this… guess what though? Love does…
It seems difficult to comprehend that Love will allow bad experiences come your way, but one thing you should know is that God has always got a plan for you no matter what happens to you because He loves you.
I John 3: 1-2
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
God does not like seeing you in sorrow, it hurts Him when you lose something or someone. I know this because someone cannot love you so much to lay down his life for you and still feel nothing when you go through pain.
There are somethings we might not be able to explain right now, but one thing we are assured of is seen in Romans 8: 18
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time cannot be compared with the glory which will be revealed in us.
Luck has no plan for you, if it really exists…
Love does though, and it is real.
Luck does not happen to you
Love does…
So, when good things happen, it ain’t luck, it is Love
When not so good things happen, it ain’t luck either, Love is still at work. And finding comfort in Love will help you find Hope in the midst of the despair.
Hey beautiful, you are not Lucky or unlucky, you are Loved
Hey handsome, you are neither lucky nor unlucky, you are Loved.
