IT’s Only A Matter Of Time
The winds have raged like a spree of misguided bullets
The sun has given its biggest grin like it just won a lottery
The sands have reached their highest
And the day, its peak
Now the day is fading
The clock is ticking and it feels louder than normal
The sun is retiring to its bed
It’s getting all quiet and still, maybe too quiet
I hide in the darkness
Scared of staring into the night
My breathing can be heard in the silence
My heart beats like the sound of a death knell
My tender flesh shivers in the night’s cold
My fragile hands trembling like a volcano about erupting
My once sharp eyes are beginning to lose their spark
And my legs feel too weak to bear my weight
With my back to the ground
And my face to the sky
My eyes meet the stars in the sky
And I wonder how this can be
My heart races as I try to fathom;
How can for light to be so beautiful even in darkness?
It was then I realized that no matter how dark it gets
Light will always find its way through
With my eyes still fixed to the sky
And my heart lost in the desert of thoughts
Like a dream, I see the darkness start to disappear
I can feel my blood rushing yet again
It starts from little cracks of light
The stars have said their farewells
It is the opening ceremony of a new day
The sun stretches at the sight of a new dawn and folds its blanket
The cold and shivers are gone
The sun sends its greeting with a beautiful smile
Strength and vitality is restored
And Hope is become a reality
Though it looked so far and so small
It kept my eyes open
It kept me alive
It helped me find my way back through the darkness
Hope is that little star
It makes you see this;
No matter how dark it gets
Light will always overcome
It is only a matter of time
The darkness was never meant to stay
There is always hope
You just have to look up
It is only a matter of time.
