#31DaysWithTheAnchor – Day 1
Topic: The Anchor
Meditate:
This hope [this confident assurance] we have as an anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears upon it]—a safe and steadfast hope that enters within the veil [of the heavenly temple, that most Holy Place in which the very presence of God dwells]
Recently, I have had to ask myself why it is quite difficult for me to keep my eyes closed in a fast moving car.
I wondered if my being awake or my eyes being opened was a form of control over the vehicle. Perhaps, I thought, with my eyes open, it is less likely for the vehicle to have an accident.
How wrong I was. I began to think that if an accident was about to happen, would I take over the wheels from the driver? That is a rather faster way of having an accident.
What I realized however from this experience, was how much I did not trust the driver. And the semblance just popped up in my head. Do I trust the Anchor of my life?
The Anchor is like a driver, He controls movement and direction. However, unlike the regular drivers around us, He is always in control, no matter what comes our way.
In the next couple of days, we will be getting to know more about The Anchor. It promises to be an exciting journey if you choose to be a part of it.
