The Great Resolve For A Great Nation

The Great Resolve For A Great Nation

Rhetoric is a poor substitute for action, and we have trusted only to rhetoric. If we are really to be a great nation, we must not merely talk, we must act big

Theodore Roosevelt

We hope to have a nation with strong pillars
Firmly built on rocks
With every certainty and surety of haven
And when the state of our nation opposes every dream of reality
What upholds our hope?
Even when we seem trapped in a birdlime
Hope is no crime
Yet actions do not cost a dime
But at prime
Like a stitch in time
Saves nine
Eases pine
Soothes as fine wine
When it reflects on the pages of history
In the hearts of men
Cos hardships we will suffer
And diversity will be posed against.
Name a great nation that is immune to these?
Still they stand great
Armed with bulletproof
With a unbendable resolve
To remain indomitable
When the great walls crash
With a heart and act,
Taking the hit for brothers
They stand as titanium
Ricochet!
They stand fast and suffer long
Building pillars deep
On rocks strong steep
Unvanquishable!
With heads and hands put together,
Unconquerable!
Cos to be a great nation and a great people,
You have to do great things!

To be a great nation and a great people, you have to do great things

Homer Hickam
