100% Trust
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Let’s start by defining what trust is; Trust is a firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability or strength of someone or something.
This particular definition caught my attention; Trust is both emotional and logical.
Hmmm…
Does this mean we have two sides to trust (emotional and logical)?
Let’s see this together:
Trust is emotional in the sense that your vulnerabilities, weaknesses and in-capabilities are exposed to someone with the assurance that such a person will not take advantage of your openness but would rather strengthen you.
Trust is also logical in the sense that you have assessed the possibilities of how much you could lose and how much you could gain by trusting this person. In other words, it sounds more logical to put your trust in someone who you would expect something from rather than someone you would not expect anything from.
Now, fitting these two together; I can say I trust you because, I have experienced your trust worthiness and because I have faith in your human nature.
One very important question we can ask at this point is; is it possible to trust 100%?
Well, humanly speaking, it actually seems impossible. We are in a society that suggests that you should always expect disappointments from fellow human beings. This is due to the fact that no human being is seen as perfect hence, one should not put absolute trust or dependence on any human being as that could spell disaster.
That is actually quite correct for human beings. No man is perfect and every man is bound to disappoint once in a while either intentionally or unintentionally. No man is capable of doing everything and anything as there are limits to what he or she can do. However, there is One who is unlimited, perfect and perfectly capable of doing anything and everything. He is the only One you should give your absolute trust to.
Men will definitely fail, but He never fails. A “disappointment” from Him usually turns out to be for your good because, He alone knows what is best for you even more than you. He is not a man that will lie or the son of man that will go back on His word. With Him, you do not need 99% trust, only 100% trust will be accepted because, anything less is seen as distrust.
He is the One person that will never take advantage of your weaknesses and vulnerabilities but would rather give His strength to be made perfect in that weakness. He is the only One that exists who has proven time and time again from ages past that He is can do all things including the impossible.
It is high time you stopped relying and depending on others and yourself and started relying and trusting God 100%.
You Are Never Alone.
