The Cry of The Lost

This is the cry of the Lost.

It is something special to have someone or people support you, support your dreams, pushing you to be the best you can be, believing in not just your potentials and capabilities but also your vision, ambitions and purpose.

However, I would like to ask this, how far do you think that will take you? Far enough maybe?

How would you handle the feeling of “no one else sees what I am seeing”? How will you handle the neglect from everyone or the fact that no one seems to care about what you believe in and what you see?

I can assure you, it can get pretty lonely there. You try so hard to paint a picture that looks so beautiful to your inner eyes but the harder you try to make them see this beautiful picture so vivid in your mind, the more blurry it gets for them. “They just don’t get it”, eventually you feel like throwing in the towel; maybe this is not the right thing to do, maybe I am not good enough, not qualified, maybe if someone else presents it to them, they might just see it, maybe I am just too young for them to listen to me, maybe I am not cut out for this.

This terrible feeling enslaves your will, stripping you of your most powerful asset in challenging times and creates so much anxiety and uncertainty. Questions erupt like a volcano, questions on identity; self-worth and esteem reduces to its barest minimum, purpose becomes a fairy tale, dreams become mere fantasies. What is purpose without identity anyway?

We all get to this point. For some, it starts at the beginning, for others, it just bumps in at some point, maybe even close to the end. They believe in you at first, then suddenly things start to change, they don’t understand you anymore, they feel your dreams are absurd, they think you are absurd, there are better things out there for a young man or woman like you, they know what is best for you. Well, it seems everyone has their own version of “the best” which kind of makes me wonder; how many “bests” exist? These conflicting versions really gets confusing at some point and you realize you do not even know what you want anymore.

At such a sensitive point, what do you do? This question comes with an answer that is quite hard to accept because it feels unrealistic and impractical.  We’ve all got to face the reality right? Anyways, here is the answer to the aforementioned question; keep pushing yourself till you get to where you are going to because when you get there, they will be able to see clearly what you were trying to make them see all this while and they would want to be part of it (after it has become a success). You may have heard this before and you were like “whatever” right? Well, I probably will say the same. However, here is the truth whether you want to believe it or not; the road is a very rough and tough one with loads of challenges and you are the best person that can take yourself across the finish line. No one else.

Do not get it twisted, there are always people positioned at different stages and phases of your life to help you but ultimately, your desire and perseverance, your will and inner strength will be the major factors that push you across the finish line.

You are never alone, there are thousands, hundreds of thousands and millions of people that can help you depending on your definition of help. They will definitely not carry you across the finish line in their arms or on their back, they might not even help you stand up whenever you fall or revive you whenever you are faint, they might not throw in the resources you need to fulfil your dreams or give you the needed moral support and motivation we usually look up to people for. You may get some, you may not get some. However, what you learn from each and every one of them will help you become a better person running towards the finish line. They are like little crumbs that fall off the table of abundance you thought you were going to partake of. Help does not always come in silver and gold, precious stones or such things as you would expect and desire, sometimes they come in little packages you would easily ignore and write off. Do not despise those little crumbs, they could be the defining characters that will make or break you. King David was sought after to be killed by his predecessor but throughout those difficult moments, he learned to be a better King than his predecessor.

Stop sobbing over how many people do not believe in you or support you. You believing in yourself is just enough of a spring board to get you to your destination.

Stop waiting for people to show you that they care about you, show them that whether they like it or not, you will pursue that which matters to you. It is not going to be easy but in the end it will speak for itself.

Stop waiting for help, go out and get it, stop waiting for one angel to come and turn the waters for you and carry you into the pool, make use of what is available to you to get what you want and save yourself. You have all that you need, resources, skills, gifts and so on, all that pertains to life and Godliness has been given to you. You have within you already what it takes to be the best that you can be; you need to see it, you need to use it. You are too loaded to be stranded, too successful to be a failure, to complete to live a depleted life.

You are a successful project. When He was done with you, He said; Oh My, would you look at that… Now that’s what I am talking about! Very Good!!!

You still don’t get it? Whew!!!

There is someone always watching over you, always looking out for you, so don’t you ever assume that you are alone because You Are Never Alone. He is One that sticks closer than a brother, and His plans for you are good, He causes all things to work for your good. He alone knows what is “the best” for you and unlike humans, He will stick with you till the end of the road.

This is the cry of the Lost who has been Found.
