#31DaysWithTheAnchor – Day 8
Topic: Seeing the Anchor
Meditate:
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.
I was walking back home from school one night when an illustration came to mind as regards my relationship with God. In reference to my walk home that night, my being safe could be from the feeling of walking with someone right beside me or knowing someone was behind me I could call on to keep me from harm.
Both provisions are great but the best is certainly to have someone right beside me, someone to talk and walk with and not just a resource I could bank on.
At that point, I realized my relationship with God was the former, yes, I knew him, yes I was aware of him but rather than walking through life with him, I was limiting his influence in my life, limiting his influence to a backup plan to go to when I needed. I wasn’t seeing him in my walk, I was just assured of the fact that he was still there, being assured of that is great, nothing wrong with it but it’s much more better to see, acknowledge and live with him.
Regardless of whatever is going on beloved, the Anchor is always there, always ready to help but being able to see him, that helps you even much more than you could imagine. Gives you more of what you need; peace, joy, assurance, all of it.
That moment, that night, I had a mental shift and made a decision, I decided to see the Anchor in my everyday life, I decided to acknowledge him and walk life through with him side by side and I implore you to do the same.
That little detail you attributed to luck, the good day you had, learn to see the anchor in all of it. Even in the not so great times, count your blessings and remember his word “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16: 33.
In order to trust and obey the anchor, you must be able to see him in the situation. You must see him guiding you through it, his word being a lamp to your feet and light to your path.
Task of the day:
Intentionally take note of how the Anchor shows up for you today and thank him for it.
