MAXI-PROVE

MAXI-PROVE

Don’t mind the title; Maxi-Prove, was only trying to be creative.

Anyways, Maxi-Prove is a combination of two words; Maximize and Improve. These are two key attributes we need to develop to be better persons this year.

Every human being has two parts; a superior part and an inferior part. In this case, I am referring to them as strengths (what makes you feel superior, stronger, more powerful) and weaknesses (flaws, the imperfect side, the part that makes you inferior or not so good).

It is like a physicist in an orchestra, a musician in a laboratory. There is obviously no doubt that one can be good in more than one thing. But can one be equally good in more than one thing? Well, that is left for debate. By the way, this is just an example to explain the distinct sides of a man.

I learned something about the Musician, Mozart who passionately loved and was equally good at two instruments; the violin and the piano; but had to forgo the violin to be extraordinary at the piano. For me this is the height of sacrifice.

However, we will be focusing on personality strengths and weaknesses. We see quite a lot of people are limiting themselves today because they neglect one over the other. It is important to note that both should not be ignored but should be approached from different perspectives.

You do not focus so much time and energy on your strengths and neglect your weaknesses, you also do not focus so much on your weaknesses and forget about your strengths. So what do we do? How do we approach these two parallel lines that seemingly never cross?

Here is the solution: Maximize your strengths and improve on your weaknesses.

This means you are responsible for both your strengths and weaknesses and you have a role to play in addressing both and not give excuses for incompetence on either side.

So what does it mean to Maximize?

It means to make something as great in amount, size or importance as possible. In other words, increase in value of something which already has value.

Here is what we are saying, be the best at your best, be at the peak of your strength. We see quite a number of people who are satisfied and complacent where they are; they feel they are good enough, strong enough, there is no other height higher than where they are. To them, a few achievements are enough. As long as a hundred people read my articles, that is enough for me; well, for me being the first is good enough, there is nothing more than that. Well, it will shock you to discover that even the best develop new targets, record breakers create new records and always look to break their own records. So maximize your strength, become a force to be reckoned with in your field and increase the value of what you are good at.

What does it mean to Improve?

It means to cause something to be better. Improving on something means that which needs to be improved on is actually below par. Showing the need to improve and make it better.

Many of us have flaws in our personalities and are not concerned about it; we simply ignore and move on believing our strengths will cover up for our weaknesses. We are so good at speaking but terrible at listening, so good at creativity and generating ideas but really poor at execution. Your strengths show who you are, what people should expect from you or what people look forward to in you while the other side (the weaknesses) are what people look to exploit to deprive you of the best you are looking to attain. Both are needed to stand out even in a crowded sphere.

These two sides help us live balanced lives and even become more effective in whatever we do.

Make a commitment today to maximize your strengths and improve on your weaknesses because both will be needed for you to be the best you can be this year.

In conclusion, Maxi-Prove means showing what you want to be known for without leaving a flaw which can be exploited. Be the best you can be this year.

You are never alone
