How can you love God and not love others?
Loving God can be quite easy, especially when things are all rosy.
We can be quick to confess our love for him, worship, praise and commune with him. But have we really wondered how possible it is to love the creator but not his creation?
Have we thought of how possible it is to love God, but despise your neighbor?
The answer is it’s not! It is not possible to love God and not love others.
God is love, and once you receive the life of Christ,we are bound by grace to love the very ones who have hurt us. Because while we were yet sinners, He loved us! So yes, Christ is also in love with the sinners we want nothing to do with.
Romans 12:14 says, Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.(NIV)
The Bible clearly tells us to love one another in 1John4: 7-8
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” NIV
It says one another, not some people, neither does it say only nice people. One another includes even those who treat us wrongly. And just in case we don’t know what love is, let’s read this scripture together
1Corinthians 13:4-7
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” NIV
So when the devil plants seeds of dislikes in our hearts, we should overcome by filling ourselves with the love of God.
Share the love with everyone you come in contact with, cause it’s in doing so that we can truly claim to love God.

What other steps do you take to loving and expressing it to people? Feel free to share in the comments!
As much as loving God is the ultimate, one of the ways to express our love to God is by loving those around us. Whoever they might be, regardless of what they might have done. This is probably the hardest thing for a man to do, which is why we should consistently trust God to teach us to love like Him.
Yeah, was it Paul who had asked how we can claim to love God who we cannot see when we do not love the people around us who we can see? So loving God indeed will be evident in your relation to people…
Many thanks for sharing Temitope. But how do we trust God to teach us to love like Him? like are there practical ways?
Beautiful. I have to constantly remind myself that God loves others just as much as he loves me that helps me love them better
Thanks for sharing Conversehouse. It really really helps to know that other people are loved by God just as much as we are loved by him. After all, God’s expression of love was to the world and not just to us. Knowing that God loves him and her the same way he loves me helps me love others better. Thank you once again
