Mothers Are People Too By Vicky

Subconsciously, she is the parent we are most strongly bonded to as infants and as we progressively grow, she becomes our most preferred friend. She is a mother!

The one who is always around to listen first, to cook warm meals, to tend to us. And when we start experimenting foolishness and portraying stubbornness unapologetically, she is directly most affected and her chant of discipline, her pulls at our ears, her rod of correction, her look of distress and disapproval makes her our first rival yet her warm embrace, her encouraging nudges, her charming smiles, her pat on our back, her rub on our head are expressions we hungrily seek for.

Her life is dedicated to her children but the children never recognize how much of a selfless sacrifice she makes. We seek her apologies for every ‘personal’ moment she dares to live for herself. For the jobs she works to afford gifts she personally want to give, the outings she takes to explore and rejuvenate we cast blames upon her absence, “She is my mother” We say but who cares about what happens to her own life?

Does it come to a standstill because she has children children?

Does she sin when she attends to her ‘personal’ business?

Oh dear children, cut mothers some slack!
Surely, it is the role of a virtuous woman to diligently serve her household but it also is the role of children to call her blessed- to appreciate her (Proverbs 31:28)

You say you have a life you need to live fully
Mothers also have a life to be lived fully
So for every priceless precious moments of sacrifice and love, appreciate them, praise them and don’t forget to remember that mothers are people too!

Every man has a purpose in life. Ours is to help people discover, rediscover and fulfill their purpose. We believe that the young generation are the building blocks and foundation of the next new thing the world is about to experience.
