Keep Your Eyes Above
I made a statement few days ago, and I quote “of what use is an anchor You if there isn’t a storm”
A friend called my attention to it, making me understand that even while the ship sails, the anchor is in use. But its effect isn’t felt because the sea is calm.
No one notices the effort, the anchor makes to maintain balance, until there is a storm.
When the storm comes, the sailors checks if the anchors is in place, sometimes more anchors are added to keep the ship upright.
It is the same way many of us don’t notice how good God has been, or how wonderful a father he is until there is a storm. Then we come running to Him, asking for peace.
You know the song Oceans by Hillsong?
The part that says
“Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger”
Our trust can’t be without borders, neither can our faith be made stronger if we have never been in situations only God can handle.
So I’m going to round up with a statement my friend made. She said, “There will be tribulations, they are important tests of our faith.”
So when the storm comes, keep your eyes above the waves.
Like my Pastor would say, focus on God, focus on the beauty of nature, focus on the things He has created because when you begin to focus on your problems, you become your problems.
Remember you are never alone.
