Take a thought on the trending madness in the world right now, why despite many and great acquisitions, it never feels enough. Don’t get judgmental, bring your thoughts home, yes You! Reading and learning the usual and unusual life patterns -practically knowing and having a taste of all, why do you still feel the excess need for more? Hmmm.. Yeah…. That’s where the madness begins.
Acquiring all that we’d ‘need’ to give ourselves ‘pleasure’, but it’s never enough. How uncontentious self is. We do not see it so, rather we like to think there’s need for ‘more’.
It’s no wonder why we occasionally dabble into sin, “great or small” if you classify it so. The unnecessary incessant and unquenchable hunger we have for more. It ain’t bad, it drives us to aim higher but in our carelessness and selfishness, lack of contentment is a result. Wanting more even when it’s beyond our capability. Obviously, something is missing! “What exactly is it? ” Having all we supposedly think we need, but it ain’t enough. Try to acquire the whole world, there’d still be an unceasing sense of emptiness, cos the pleasures or peace the world offers is undoubtedly nothing that we need.
Economics teaches that humans are insatiable. Correct! But… When you have peace, peace I mean , not of the world, one that the Prince of peace himself gives, there’s an unexplainable satisfaction that takes over, less or no heart troubles. Sin wouldn’t be an option because with this assurance we would learn to appreciate ourselves, life, all that we’ve successfully acquired and the faithful giver of all, diligently and incorruptibly going about our pursuits.
Maybe, you’ve never wanted to admit, but I know you’re tired of this endless quest, I’m just as much. We know what to do, right? We’ll reach out to the Prince of Peace and just in case you forgot, “He gives freely”
You Are Never Alone
