Now I See Me
Now I See Me
What do you see when you look into the mirror? Do you see yourself or just a reflection of yourself? Is what you see fake or is it real?
Well, here is what I think; we see three persons all at once when we look into the mirror. We see who we were, who we are and who we should be. Who you were helps you appreciate who you are and who you are helps you know what you need to do to be who you should be. In other words, when we look at the mirror, we compare these three images even though we only see one image on the mirror.
Your mirror image is not complete if it does not have one of these three persons in one. It is like the trinity. Three in one. Without one of the three, you have not seen yourself. This therefore implies that we are a sum total of our past, present and future; with each of them playing a vital role in defining who we really are.
Here is one truth we know but rarely apply; no one can help you see you the way you need to see yourself. You can choose not to believe what someone tells you simply because you do not see it yourself. Therefore, no matter what someone shows you about you, you need to see it for yourself.
People live under the cloud of other people’s identities just because;
- They have not seen themselves
- They do not want to remember who they were
- They do not want to admit and accept who they are
- They are not willing to work towards who they are supposed to be.
Let’s take this scenario; when you go to the mirror, you go with the intention of seeing yourself the way you should be. However when you get there, the first image that pops up is what you look like. For every work you do on yourself, you create a former person (who you were); it makes you appreciate how far you have gone and points out at the same time how much you still have left to do.
This is the point; you might not be where you really want or wish to be; however, you are not where you used to be either.
To be continued…
You Are Never Alone.
