I Wish I Were 18…

I wish i were 18…

Have you ever wished you were younger, wished you could go back in time to a particular period in your life, or have you ever pondered on how fast time flies?

Just in case you have not, I have. Recently I thought of how old I was and I was a little confused, trying to calculate how old I was. I wanted to be at a particular age so bad that I felt that had to be my age. However, I was really disappointed to find out that I was actually older than I really wanted to be. Majorly because, I wanted to feel like I had more time. However, reality dawned on me and I realized that time waits for no one; not even the President of the most powerful nation in the universe. Time gets shorter with each day that passes; the older we get the less time we have.

It is ironic that we all want to grow old, be more matured, and take up the responsibilities of matured people. However, when we get there, we want to go back to our younger years. Many of us feel that by going back in time we would be able to make better decisions and choices compared to the ones we made back then. Unfortunately, we cannot go back. Many of us have made critical mistakes and we wish we could go back in time to undo such mistakes which have affected our lives.

Many incidents have happened in our lives that we wish we could go back in time to reverse them, or go back to do something different so that that incident would never have happened and life would be better. We all have good intentions but you can ask The Flash about the implication of going back in time to change an incident (if that’s possible).

It may be difficult to accept the fact that we may not be able to do anything about our past; however we can do a whole lot about our future. I wasn’t the best student in my academics and a lot of times I wish I could go back to work harder and be better thereby, coming out with better grades; but I cannot do that. I wish I had gone to my mum’s office instead of my mum on that fateful day; I am pretty convinced that that accident would never have happened; I cannot do this either.

I cannot be a better person for yesterday; what I can do is to be a better person for tomorrow. I cannot change my past; what I can do is construct my future. So stop trying to change what cannot be changed, start focusing on creating a future that you will be proud of.

Every man has a purpose in life. Ours is to help people discover, rediscover and fulfill their purpose. We believe that the young generation are the building blocks and foundation of the next new thing the world is about to experience.
